In recent months I have been working with some new aspects to my practice. Instead of working in the mist of the city and being on the street of the city. I have taken to new heights with a new project called Above the city. This project looks to explore the city from above, where I’m away from all the busyness that comes with being in the city center. Whilst I’m in these locations that are above the city, I get to explore the city and connect with the city without anyone else around. It makes for surreal experience, one that I try and portray through imagery from car parks, roof tops and just about any space I can get above the city. The focus of above the city is to still be in the heart of the cities I’m photographing but for me to capture these quiet, lifeless spaces whilst still being surrounded by beautiful cityscapes. I have found myself to work with architecture from face on, for a few years now. I felt with Above the city, I could still explore great architecture but without being involved with the city life. This is a current working progress, which I look to further develop after completion of university.
