The Metrolink tram network in Manchester was part of Manchester that caught my attention a lot whilst in the city. The project focused on trying to connect with the daily commuter whilst using the tram network. This part of Manchester is widely used by commuters, what I found with the array of commuters was that they all had this glum, almost miserable look across their faces. My approach with the project was to try and invade their personal space with my camera and capture their reaction to this unexpected event that has been forced upon them, during what would usually be a dull uneventful commute. The tram network isn’t a part of Manchester that is extremely exciting, it’s used to get you from A to B. I wanted to take a dive into this routine of the everyday commuter and see what reactions I could spark to my presents.
